I made my professional operatic debut while I was a student: as Gaston in La Traviata at the Cambridge arts theatre. Since then I have performed all over Europe, including appearances for the Royal Opera House, English National Opera, Opera North, Holland Park Opera, English Touring Opera, Komische Oper, Berlin, Deutsche Oper am Rhein, Düsseldorf and the Macedonian National Opera.
I spent two fantastic years as the house lyric tenor in Schwerin, and a further two years in Bremen and period in Coburg & Gera.
My wide-ranging repertoire matches my enthusiasm for all genres of singing and abilities as an adaptable tenor. I have sung everything from early music to 21st Century opera and steered myself though virtually every facet from light lyric tenor to dramatic tenor.
I have particularly enjoyed performing Peter Grimes, Hermann (Pique Dame), Canio (I Pagliacci) and Romeo (Romeo et Juliette).
I have performed the tenor soloist role in most of the core oratorio repertoire including:
My performances in concerts have taken me to both sides of the Atlantic and to both Northern and Southern Hemispheres.
I love to appear in recitals. They range from critically acclaimed performances of Schumann’s Dichter Liebe to hugely popular “Three Tenors” concerts.
