In 2003 I took over Bledlow Parish Church Choir. Then there were just eight members. Bledlow is a tiny village in the Chilterns, 30 miles from London. Word about my choir quickly spread and the membership quickly increased to its current level of about 40 members. A testament to our quality is that we have now sung in cathedrals, priories and minsters throughout the UK, including St Paul’s Cathedral in London and York Minster.
In 2009 I was appointed as Musical director of Uxbridge Choral Society. During my tenure we performed a full scale Messiah, Verdi’s Requiem, Haydn’s Creation and the world amateur premiere of Sir John Tavener’s Lament For Jerusalem.
In 2015 I took on Aylesbury Choral Society and plunged straight into the Brahms Requiem. Since then we have performed Bach, St. Matthew Passion among many others.
I now also direct the Lord Williams Festival Chorus, a well established choral society ….
Choral Holidays is my own company. I share my love of singing and passion for communication with amateur singers. I take them to places they would not normally have the opportunity to sing and gently coach them into performing at levels they never imagined they would be able to achieve.
Some recent locations for Choral Holidays include:
Cantemus cum Spiritu is another of my commercial ventures. This is aimed at more advanced choral singers who are leaders within their own choirs but whose choirs don’t sing cathedral services. This gives them the opportunity to do that. We have performed in cathedrals all over England and Wales, filling these amazing spaces with spirited performances of Evensong and the Eucharist.
